Introducing Layla

Layla is a 30-lb mixed breed dog who was adopted from a local shelter at the age of 16 weeks. When I adopted her, she had already been through 3 separate homes and had been living at the shelter for 4 weeks.

Layla has taught me so much since the day I adopted her and I continue to learn more from her every day. She and I are not perfect but we are working on it. Layla has overcome many challenges in her life and we continue to work together to make her life the best it can be for her.

My hope is that this blog will become something of a combination training diary/community of supporters. I have tried keeping training records in the past and found it very helpful, but did not have the willpower to continue sitting down and writing out what happened in each and every training session. By not being so strict with myself but still having a good reason to report on our progress on a regular basis, hopefully I can figure out something that works well for our situation.
